Week #4 – Capturing Motion – Photography Challenge

Continuing on in our weekly photography challenge, the goal this week is to capture motion. As I mention in the video, capturing motion can help convey meaning and emotion in your photo. You can freeze action or show movement. This week’s challenge is a technical challenge because I want you to use your camera settings to assist in capturing motion. There are a couple of different ways to capture motion. You can freeze the action with a fast shutter speed. This often freezes everything in the frame including the background. You can also attempt to freeze just the subject by using a slightly slower shutter speed while you attempt to follow the subject as it moves capturing it’s motion while the background remains blurry. Upload your Week #4 challenge photos to the new Album in the Ditch Auto Group: Here are a few photos containing motion that I have captured in the past. I will be out this week attempting to capture a new motion shot as well. I look forward to seeing what everybody comes up with. Please challenge yourself to take new photos this week. I am sure you have some fantastic photos that fit the challenge but the goal of this challenge is to get out and take new photos. Feel free to take all week to work on this challenge.
